Robert P. Conway
Mr. Conway, a founding member of Conway, Del Genio, Gries & Co., LLC, (CDG) is a respected leader in the restructuring and turnaround management profession with over 30 years experience advising clients on all aspects of complex corporate turnarounds and reorganizations in a multitude of industries.
As one of the nation’s leading turnaround practitioners, Mr. Conway has served as CEO and Chief Restructuring Officer of numerous corporations in diverse domestic and international industries. Among the many successful engagements Mr. Conway has executed throughout his career, some selected transactions include Adelphia Communications, American Community Newspaper, Centennial Healthcare, Corvest Promotional Products, Haynes International, Journal Register, Loral Space Communications, Mariner Post-Acute Network, Sharper Image, Steve & Barry’s and World Health Alternatives.
In addition to serving as chief executive officer and chief restructuring officer of distressed companies, Mr. Conway has advised lenders, creditors, corporate boards and equity sponsors on both operational and financial issues affecting their interests. Over the course of his career, he has led restructurings, divestitures and acquisitions which included valuations, recapitalizations, overhead reduction initiatives, business and asset evaluations, strategic assessments, capital raising and negotiation.
Prior to co-founding CDG, Mr. Conway served as Chairman of Ernst & Young’s Global Corporate Finance organization and as Managing Partner and National Director of Financial Advisory Services with overall responsibility for Restructuring and Reorganization, Corporate Finance, Valuation and Litigation Services.
Mr. Conway’s experience also includes 15 years with a major commercial bank, where he managed major debt restructurings for both privately-owned and publicly-held commercial and industrial companies in a wide variety of industries, and established the first money center bank unit to specialize in Debtor-in-Possession financing.
